How to Share and Protect a Room Safely

Use these steps whenever you send a Room name, password, or invitation link.

Steps

  1. Confirm who should receive access.
  2. Send the Room name or direct invitation using a channel you trust.
  3. Send the participant password when required.
  4. Keep the Owner PIN out of the invitation.
  5. Tell recipients not to forward access without checking first.
  6. Use knock entry or update the Room password when stronger door control is needed.

What should happen

Your intended participants have the information needed to reach the Room.

Common problems

  • An invitation can be forwarded.
  • Unlisted does not mean impossible to access.
  • A listed Room may show summary information but does not show its conversation.
