Safety and Reporting

Owners manage who receives access, and everyone can help keep room information within the intended group.

Protect the door

  • Share Room passwords and invite links only with intended participants.
  • Never share the Owner PIN as a participant password.
  • Use knock entry when approval is appropriate.
  • Remember that recipients can forward a link or password.

Manage unwanted participation

Authorized Room managers can remove or escort someone, or ban that person from returning to the Room within the role hierarchy. Room settings can also limit photos and GIFs. Change access information when it may have spread beyond the intended group.

Report a serious concern

Use the in-product Serious Concern reporting option when available, or use the Contact / Report Abuse page. Helpful information can include the approximate time, the Room name, what happened, who was involved as they appeared in the Room, and any relevant screenshots you can share safely.

Do not send Owner PINs, passwords, payment information, or other secrets in a report unless JoinRooms explicitly provides a secure field for that information.
