How Knock Entry Works

Use this when a Room asks you to knock instead of entering directly.

Steps

  1. Enter the requested Room details and nickname.
  2. Choose the option to knock.
  3. Wait while an eligible person inside reviews the request.
  4. Enter when approved, or ask the inviter for help if the request expires.

What should happen

Approval admits you to the Room; a knock alone does not guarantee entry.

Common problems

  • Someone eligible must be connected inside to approve the knock.
  • Knocks can expire and are rate-limited.
  • The owner may have changed the Room's entry settings.
