Temporary Rooms normally use a Room password. Persistent Room owners can choose password, open, or knock entry and may publish an optional listing.
Participants use it when required. It is separate from the Owner PIN.
A protected Room can ask visitors to knock and wait for approval.
A listing shows basic Room information, never the messages.
Owner credentials are not part of ordinary joining. They are there when a Room needs management.

No traditional social account is required for normal Room entry. Use the Room details and a nickname.
It is the private credential used for owner controls. Participants normally use the Room password instead.
Rooms are unlisted by default. Eligible persistent Room owners may publish an optional listing.
No. A listing shows summary information, not the Room conversation.
Choose Join a Room. Use the same Room name and password while the Room is still open. Free Rooms have no Owner PIN. If you have an Owner PIN, choose Room Owners.
A free Room has an eight-hour window. It stays open while someone is connected. After eight hours, it closes when no one is connected. If everyone chooses Leave Room, it can close sooner.
JoinRooms works in modern phone, tablet, and desktop browsers.
Reserved Room and Room Plus include optional Theater and Music areas for supported providers.
Paid Room owners can choose how long new messages stay, within the options supported by the Room plan.
Privacy controls available on Private Room and Room Plus that can cover the conversation when you leave, after inactivity, and reduce notification detail.
Persistent paid Rooms keep the Room name while subscribed so the group can return to the same Room.
